How to use this calculator

  1. 1Add each ingredient and amount, and set the servings.
  2. 2Read total carbohydrates and fiber per serving.
  3. 3For net carbs, subtract fiber from total carbs (or use the Calories from Macronutrients tool).
Tip: US labels include fiber in total carbs; EU and UK labels list it separately.

How it's calculated

Net Carbs = Total Carbohydrates - Dietary Fiber

We do the math at full precision and only round the final answer, so the numbers you see are as close as kitchen measurements allow. The assumptions and limits are listed alongside.

Worked example

Scenario: A recipe serving has 30g total carbs and 8g dietary fiber.
Inputs30g carbs, 8g fiber
Calculation30 - 8 = 22g net carbohydrates
Result22.0g Net Carbs (30.0g Total Carbs)

Common questions

Why does Europe not subtract fiber on labels?

There, the carbohydrate figure on labels already leaves fiber out and lists it separately, so there's nothing to subtract.
