Editorial Policy & Standards
Last Updated: March 2026
1. Editorial Mission
At Fresh Taste Kitchen, our mission is to publish genuinely useful, fact-checked, and mathematically verified kitchen resources. We reject thin, automated content and superficial listicles. Every article, calculation tool, and recipe must provide demonstrable value to home cooks and bakers.
2. Source Selection & Fact-Checking
Our articles and guides rely on primary authoritative culinary and scientific sources:
- Government bodies: USDA, FDA, NIST, and CDC.
- Accredited culinary textbooks: The Culinary Institute of America, On Food and Cooking (Harold McGee), and professional bread guild publications.
- Scientific food journals and university agricultural extensions (e.g., Cornell, UC Davis).
3. Verification of Calculations
Before any calculator is published, its underlying formulas undergo unit testing against known physical benchmarks (such as 1 US Cup = 236.588 mL, 1 avoirdupois ounce = 28.3495 grams, and boiling point thermodynamics). We provide an automated live audit suite on our website so users can inspect these test invariants in real time.
4. Use of AI and Digital Research Tools
We believe in complete transparency regarding modern technology. Computational tools and AI assistants may be utilized during research synthesis, initial drafting, and code testing. However, all published editorial text, formulas, nutritional figures, and recipes are subject to human review, verification, and editorial accountability. We never publish unreviewed machine outputs.
5. Commercial Independence
Our editorial evaluations, kitchen calculations, and scientific explanations are strictly independent. Commercial sponsors or affiliate partners never dictate our measurement baselines, nutritional calculations, or editorial judgment.
